In the past few months, I have been painting using brushes as well as cosmetic round cotton pads—I needed some textures for the “On the Language of Love” series. Some of them I used to remove some pigments from my working table. Every evening, I placed them tidy and dignified on a clean surface—to dry until next morning. And every morning, I collected and placed them safely. “What am I going to do with you?” I asked every day—objects I collected by falling in love. (Excerpt from Notebooks, November 2020 — A. F.)
