I Tried to Cut a Piece of Spring, 2023

Archival print on Hahnemühle paper

I breathe anew, or do I breathe from a remembered thought? I must hold on to this spring as if it were an Imago Dei; I must grow, diffuse green, share happiness, and bloom magically throughout Heaven. I must think, as Corbin recounts D. T. Suzuki thought, brandishing a spoon: “This spoon now exists in Heaven; I am now in Paradise.” (Except from Notebooks, Paradise Spring, 2023 — A. F.)
