Unfolding Out, 2020

I know that when I paint or draw I am able to record the same metaphysical substance as my human existence.
Art is an act of love. It is an attempt to disavow separation. It is bringing the subjective self into the objective world.
My mind itself is a build-up structure… an edifice I could easily get lost in. I need to abandon it from time to time if I do not wish to remain entrapped in old ideas or repetitive thoughts. Every day I have to accept that who I was until a minute ago is no longer relevant.
Emotions, feelings, thoughts, they constantly change and all this is nothing but to perceive and interpret.
This time of year I was feeling insecure, out of sync... the events in my imagination didn’t fit with the reality I saw. I had to experience confusion, I had to sink to the greatest exhaustion depths, and I had to become so utterly confused in order to experience peace and understanding. When we withdraw into our innermost self and it is not about escaping the world we see then we can play with it.
We can disclose the moment of silence, the moment of solitude, when the act of creation is less visible to the human eye or the awakened mind, the moment of deep connectivity that contains the seed of creation, the idea we want to see unfolding out.
In the process of painting I tell a story, a recounting of experience not as it was but a selective and imaginative construction of and who I am in the moment; I paint out an autobiography of the entwined ideas I believe to be responsible for the texture of my life. I do not wish to escape reality... I accepted there is nothing to escape from. To me there is no reality experienced except the one imagined, contained within us.
All the events that seem to be delays, mistakes or disadvantages, they are all erroneous assumptions. That which seems an error is just the next step. All I wish is to surrender to the mystery of life...to the unknown...to the next step.
